Choice of cask or keg. Obviously went with cask. Hallamshire House. Clear cola brown. Tight and fully lasting lacing beige swede. Looks the beans. Nose has milky coffee. Lightly roasted malt. Undertone of dried fruit. Taste has a milky sweetness backed up with roast malt bitterness. A little dry and ashy on the palate. Fine carbonation. Lingering roast bitterness to finish. Sturdy number.

Tap at the Colmore, Birmingham. Poured a clear, almost black colour with an everlasting frothy, off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, smoky, light sweet caramel, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 27 Nov 2021) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, dark bread, coffee and roasted malt. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, roasted malt and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced porter. Nice one.
