Bottle from Geers. Pours hazy black with a lasting, thin, beige head. Aroma of toast, brown bread, tobacco, mocha, cream, walnut. Taste has sweetish bread, walnut & toast, slightly roasted, some dried fruits with a touch of cream underneath. Earthy hoppy, toasty finish, hint of tobacco. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Not overly creamy actually but decent Porter as expected from Thornbridge.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 18th July 2020. Deep sepia with tiny amount of tan laceless foam. Richly roasty malt aroma of intense coffee. Rich roastiness in-mouth with just a hint of cherry. Roast finish slightly sour. Smooth mouthfeel and plenty of body.

Bottled 330ml (Minimani)
Dark ruby colour, small beige head. Light dark chocolate and cocoa in the nose. Light-bodied. Smooth, tosted chocolaty but very easy. Clean but not very exciting.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - dark brown to black with the odd red chink. Nose - dark chocolate, treacle and an edge of biscuit. Taste - more treacle and smoke too.this time. Palate - light to medium bodied, then pretty fru through middle and finish. Overall - bit dry for a porter. Into stout territory.
