Bottle. RAD Beer. As Oliver’s Fine Perry Bottle Conditioned Medium Season 2016. I’m presuming this is the same. Opened with a huge pop, which, for whatever reason, I was ready for (maybe I’d seen another recent rate or something). Anyway. Pours super noisy, hugely fizzy (it all calms down after a while), very pale straw colour. Nose has dessert pear. Fruit stalk. As it warms there’s a whiff of smoke. Clean and bright, although not too complex. Taste is pretty sweet, with a hint of fruit tartness. Light on the palate. Very lively, foamy carbonation. Nice balance of sweet and soft tartness on the finish. Refreshing and bright. Great stuff.

75cl bottle direct from Tom Oliver at the cider farm. Pours a pale golden yellow with a light mist, persistent effervescent bubbles rising through the glass. Aroma is green apple, skins, light perry pear fruit. Taste presents a light, natural, extremely fine spritz. Interesting perry pear fruit, subtle bitterness with a gentle sour wild side that's perhaps unexpected compared to Oliver's other keeved perries, but not unwelcome, certainly presents a more natural feel. Good stuff overall.
