Backlog January 2017. Clear amber body under a small beige head. Aroma is actually like Christmas cake with some kind of coconut essence. Taste is sweet with a lot of cake stuff in combination with malt and alcohol. Mostly pretty messy, not a successful brew by me.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Sentrum. Ultramørk amber. Lavt luftig skum med litt farge. Aroma av søt julebakst. Det er faktisk litt kokos her! Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken søt kokos. Lite annet. Lett alkoholisk avslutning.

Bottle. Dark brown to black in color, with a small beige head leaving some lacing. The first whiff of aroma reminds me of nail polish remover, and there’s some of it all the way, but a closer inspection makes me think more of cocoa on a neutral booze and a touch of coconut. Some chocolate and coffee hints blend in, and there’s a touch of licorice as well. Not sure if I really like it, but it’s sure interesting. It’s full to medium bodied, rather warming and quite low on carbonation. The carbonation thing wasn’t surprising, as popping of the cap didn’t give me the usual hiss or popping sound, it was more or less silent except for the metallic sound. The flavor is heavier on the cocoa, and towards the end the coconut gets stronger and stronger. Some roasted malts, coffee and licorice chime in. And of course the ever-present alcohol. Lasting finish. Would like less alcohol and some more body in this one, but it isn’t a bad beer. And the very end of the flavor actually reminds me of kokosmakroner. 170513

0.33l bottle. No sound on the cap pop. In the glass this one pours a deeper dark brown colored body, and as expected not much of a head. Some bubbles sticking to the sides. Get the coconut in the aroma. Mild chocolate and lots of biscuits. There's also traces essential of both licorice and dark roasted malts. Even though I'm drinking this way to cold, it smells quite nice. It's really soft on the carbonation and it has a nice oily texture in the mouth. Burnt flavors. Burnt coconut, burnt toast and burnt licorice. Well spicy, and it's definitely on the sweeter side. Lots of vanilla chip chocolate in the long finish. Bitter as well, and you do actually get a little alco warmth in the aftertaste. Mood-setting and not bad at all. 14.01.2017

Bottled 330ml (Vinmonopolet Kirkenäs)
Dark ruby color, small steady beige head. Milky, toasted, chocolaty, coconut cocoa aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Toasted flavor has strong coconut presence. Some alcohol and sweetness in the finish. Coconut overdose.

33cl bottle @ Norski tasting, Vaasa. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Wow, strong coconut notes, also chocolate and vanilla. Vanilla, chocolate, coconut dominates in the overall sweet finish. Nice in small doses.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Beitostolen. Pours very dark with cream-coloured head. Aroma bears spice and cocoa. Taste is smooth with chocolate, coconut, spice, hints of vanilla with some dried fruits. Could’ve done with more body, but not a bad effort.
