Bottle from Ludlow Food Centre. Appearance - golden with a lovely white head. Nose - grassy, dirty caramel and biscuit. Taste - more of the same, the caramel is now a chewy earthy toffee. Palate - light to medium bodied. Crunchy texture and finish. Overall - I reckon this is into Bitter territory. Not bad though once you accept that it's not a typical Golden Ale.

Bottle from the Bestofbritishbeers.com birthday box. Amber pour with a white head. Nose is honey, orange marmalade, baked apple. Orange peel, bitter citrus, spicy bitter hop flavours. Fruity bitter finish. Easy drinking action.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/12/2018. Slightly hazy gold, with a moderately-sized, white, head. Yeasty stone fruits, biscuity malts, some leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Bottle conditioned 500ml: BBE July 2017. Drank on Election night of 8th June 2017. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. Drank while eating a small Rack of Lamb, thought the Welsh connection might work, and it did. Aroma had grainy malts and not much else, the taste drier than the aroma intimated and more bitter. Decent.

500ml bottle from Appleyards Deli, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy gold with a nice fluffy head. Aroma is biscuit malt and grains. Taste is familiar Monty’s malt and grain, biscuity, some wheat.. I quite like this grainy character trait in their beers. This is a nice easy-drinker, that I imagine would be a welcome thirstquencher after walking a particularly large section of the Offa’s Dyke trail.
