75cl bottle from Gloucester Services Farm Shop, M5. Pours gold, still, with an aroma of caramel / burnt sugar. Taste is rich woody caramel, light apple fruit with some faint dusty tannins. Bit sweet at first but settles nicely.

Bottle from Gloucester Services, M5 (northbound). Deep, rich gold in colour with the odd bubble in evidence. Crisp, yet sweet, apple juice, with a touch of bruised depth and some woodiness. Very easy drinking for the strength, with a dryish finish that left a long-lasting apple after taste. A very good cider.

Bottle from the Hop Pocket, Bishops Frome, Herefordshire March 13.03.11 consumed 26.03.11 Pours warm gold, superbly clear with just the odd stray bubble breaking the surface. Despite being described as a dry cider this really starts off sweet before finishing dry. Soft gorgeous juicy apples that have a slightly aged quality, some woodiness, quite delicious. There is only one thing wrong with this and that is the fact that it’s only a 750ml bottle, I could have kept on drinking this all night. A7 A5 T9 P4 Ov16 4.1
