Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Fruity caramel aromas. Soft with dark caramel and pit fruit upfront turning to dusty chocolate in the medium length finish.

Medium brown with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma is malty, toasted, light roasted, dark sugar. Medium, creamy body. Flavor has a nice toasted, lightly roasted malt profile. Light dark sugar and molasses. Very solid brown ale.

bottle pours brown with a thin tan head, moderate lacing. Aroma is mild roast, slightly metallic and molasses. Flavor is nutty malt character, bready at times too with a big sweet coffee touch that is really nice in this beer. Good stuff.

Nice slightly hazy muddy brown coloured body with a thin tan head with a few bubbles on top. Aroma of peat, earth, mushrooms, caramel, peanuts and some quite potent malt. Medium-bodied; Nice effervescent mouthful at first with a good dose of hops and a pleasant sweet caramel note. Aftertaste shows more malt and earthy complexities, but the sweetness still lingers and is followed by a bit of cardboardie flavours. Overall, not a bad beer and about an average brown - I was expecting a bit more from the ratings, but it was okay, and a very good value! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in Falls Church (Skyline), Virginia on 11-May-2011 for US$4 sampled at home in Washington on 14-May-2011.

22 oz. bottle. $2 at Trader Joe’s. Hell, cheaper than a tallboy of crap malt liquor from Minhas. Clear body, but a dark brown one, with a sudsy head. Sweet nutty and malty smell. Taste is a little tannic, like a stout, and I just can’t think it should be here. But also a good nut brown ale, goes more for roasty than caramel malt. Mouthfeel is a little thin.Yeah, some faults, but none of the ones endemic to a "bargain" beer.

Clear Brown body with a tall, long lasting tan head. Sweet nutty flavor, no real hop flavors as it should be; a good Brown Ale.

Pour is of course brown with an average tan head. Aroma is a decent caramel malt. Flavor is a thick chewy malt with some earthyness left on the tounge. Nothing mind blowing but again at $1.99 a bomber well worth a sample.
