Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark and ruddy with a slight beige head. Aroma of brown sugar with an accompanying oak note. Near full bodied. Unexpectedly dry, but the brown sugar flavor (and sweetness) remains. Oak astringency is making it seem dry. Not to mention the wood flavor. Quite tasty.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2018, hosted by Beerlovers Bar, Antwerp. Dark amber / dark reddish color, average sized white to off-white head. Aroma is quite interesting: malts, typical barley wine aromas of malts and sweet overripe fruits lightly, raisins, chocolatey. Flavor is similar: malts, raisins, lightly chocolate, nice bitterness in the end. Nice medium to full body. Yeah pretty good, as expected from 8 Wired. Lovely.

Bought at Liquor Shed. Best before December 14th, 2019.
It pours a clear mahogany, decent head of off white foam, good lacing.
Big caramel malt nose with oak and a nice aroma of vanilla. There's some alcohol in the smell but I reckon it's more complimentary than a detracting factor.
My gosh, it's a great tasting Barleywine. Loads of caramel malt without being close to too sweet. The oak aging adds some woody notes, some alcohol, some dried dark fruit. Toffee is almost a must for me in a Barleywine and it's there.
Is it hoppy, being listed as an American style Barleywine? Yep, but it's not harsh/astringent.
Almost full bodied, fairly gentle carbonation.
Warming without being overly boozy, I must have more. Very very impressive.
