Bottle titled De Troch Winter Gueze. Pours deep, clear gold into a tumbler. White head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet, dark pit fruit aromas. Sweet and fruity strawpeacheraprirazapple flavor. It does sort of hurt my teeth in it’s sweetness. Lasting mildly bitter wood finish that quickly turns cloying

Bottle sampled at Essen Winterbeer Festival 2014. Pours clear golden with an off white head. Artificial sugar aroma, sickly sweet caramel. Nasty sickly palate. Flavour is heavy sweet and just a touch acid. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. A sorry excuse for the style. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

--- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

Bottle split with Bruce and Colin at De Heeren van Liedekercke - Denderleeuw, Belgium. Pours clear, red-gold with a creamy white head. Lots of ripe, sugary fruits in the aroma, some raspberry in particular. Big sweet flavor, syrupy, with more raspberry, low tang. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Syrupy finish with very slight sourness, more sugary fruits, bread, apricots. Pleasant enough but very sweet and not a good lambic.

Also tasted as Winter Gueuze and the only Christmas lambic I know of. Loose, crispy, almost champagne-like, thin and quickly dissolving, light beige head, colour amber with reddish glow, darker than I am used to when it comes to geuze, lightly misty. Sweet and sour aroma reminiscent of ice tea (a bit like Lindemans’ Tea Beer), some apple, lemon, tea leaves, lemonade, liquorice, cork. Citrussy, refreshing onset, herbal accents, but overpowered by a sugary sweetness that sticks till deep into the throat. A light lambic character (light bitterness) is noticeable, however, but not nearly enough to balance the sweetness. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

Troebel licht bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en zuur. Uitstekende Gueze. Smaak blijft gemiddeld hangen. Winter geuze volgens etiket.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe, pours a dark amber with a medium tan head. Nose brings out metallic notes and some oak - nothing like a gueuze a all. Flavour is similar with candied sugar dominating, a little metallic quality, and more sugar. How can you call this is a gueuze. Pretty terrible.
