375ml Bottle - Amber in colour. Raisins and musty notes in the aroma. Tangy, sweet and tart taste with raisins and dates standing out. This bottle is one I bought in 2006 and is still in reasonable nick but not really my cup of tea.

Bottle, as Winter Gueuze, drunk Summer 2015.
I’m not going to lie, I stuck this beer in the freezer to cool it and forgot about it. I let it thaw and poured it in a glass. Smelled as one would expect: heavily oxidized, vegetal, metallic, artificial.
Tastes heavily vegetal and artificial/saccharine-like.
Is this a particularly harsh rating? No, not really, this is fucking god awful beer. But beyond that, that they dare put the word gueuze on the label is just sinful. Still sad and confused about how this "brewery" stays in business.

Bottle shared at home. Clear dark golden with small off white head. Roses, puke, wort, sweet rotten grains, cane sugar, mint, lots of sweet herbs. Taste is sweet wort. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Tastes like unfermented wordt and smells like garbage juice. Disgusting. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

(bottle, 37.5cl) Hazy, murky golden to amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly acidic, mouldy and yeasty aroma with artificial fruity notes of bonbon and candy. Sweet and slightly sour-tart flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Initially sweet and artificial taste with notes of candy; sweet and sour-fruity finish with mouldy notes. No pleasure. 15.IX.15

The most persistent thing in here is fake grape juice - like tang drink crystals. Of course, this aroma must have been around before tang invented it, so I’m not sure that’s de Troch’s fault. Pinkish pour with ok head. Mostly sweet finish. Bottle.

From a 33 cl bottle at the WWWW RB tasting. Pours a clear pale pinkish gold. Aroma of sweet cane sugar. Flavors of candi sugar. Where’s the funk?

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2014 vintage bottling. Pours slightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, peach, apricot, apple, white grape, candi sugar, hay, straw, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast and moderate malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, peach, apricot, apple, white grape, candi sugar, hay, straw, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Slight tart/spicy finish; with lingering notes of lemon, peach, apricot, apple, white grape, candi sugar, hay, straw, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity/funky yeast and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good sweetened lambic style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/funky yeast and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

Bottle, as De Troch Winter Geuze 2014. Pours crystal clear pale orange, small white head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is grass, candi sugar, grain. Flavor is pretty darn sweet, candi sugar, perhaps a bit of urine, minimal tartness or funk. Light body. Huh.

Dark orange color, almost no head. cork comes out appears totally flat. Smells like lemon and gingerbread. Ever had an old lemon meringue pie with ginger, clove, table sugar, mint leaves and balsamic vinegar? That’s this!!!
