Hand-pulled pint in The White Lion, Wellington, Shropshire on 25th Jan 2014. Good looking dark brown brew with a creamy head in texture and colour. Roasted malts with a semi-burnt twist in both the nose and taste. Fairly smooth feel to the body, full of dark wintery fruit flavours within the over roasted maltiness. Big Nev has sold the brewery and pub I believe: I’ll miss his beers and I hope the new people brew beers as good as this.

Cask @ The Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire. Autumn forest aroma with lovely smooth dark malts, raisins, currants, Christmas Pudding and a nice nutty finish. A great blend, probably the best i’ve had from this brewery.

Cask conditioned handpull at Dragon Inn, Worcester. Ruby, not much head. Smoke. Like the smoke. Smokey porter, but not too choccy. Good fish kipper smoke. Lovely awesome. So good, drinkable. Good hop on finish. Not too roasty, smooth malts, but that fish smoke aroma and flavour is awesome
