A formidable strong ale which will appeal to the real hop lover. Perhaps more accurately described as an original style IPA, the beer is produced with Marris Otter pale malt and deploys the mighty Green Bullet hop to provide a hefty bitterness. Golden in colour the rich and fruity malt flavours are met head on by intense hop bitterness and aroma which give rise to a long lasting dry finish.

Bottle from the White Horse, Clun, Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. Nose - lemon sherbet and orange tang on the end. Taste - tangy lemon again. It still has a wild yeast thing going on. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry tangy finish. Overall - I reckon this would be better on cask. There’s a touch of something wild yeast in there.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours clear golden with a massive white head. Aromas are mostly sherbet and yeast. Taste is woody, light sweet. Dry finish. Had to knock some carbonation out of it as it was far too high.

Gravity cask @ Ludlow Food Festival. Lots of bold hops here with a good turnout from the citrus contingent. Quite refreshing. This should definitely be in more Shropshire real ale pubs, no doubt about that.

5.9% ABV cask: hand-pulled pint in The Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire on 21 June 2013. Yellow/golden body, bright and clear, on top a pure white head of small bubbles. Sadly it had the citrus nose and feel I dislike about so many beers currently brewed in the UK. Only mild in it’s grapefruit and lemon flavours and aroma it still put me off. Strong enough to hide the alcohol, but not completely overpowering in it’s citrus base to allow some maltiness notes to almost appear and try to balance the brew out. Looking and tasting passed that citrus ’problem’ it is a well produced beer and refreshing, just not what I wanted.
