Bottle at home, picked up from the Co-Op in Honeybourne, 22/01/23. Moderately hazed golden amber with a good sized lasting just off white head. Nose is bready, biscuit, hint of vanilla, stewed fruits, grains, touch of orange zest. Taste comprises earthy fruits, hedgerow, herb, biscuit, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter edge. Decent enough golde ... although at 5.6% it's nearer an English Strong!

500ml bottle taken away from BeerTorrent, Leamington Spa, and drunk at home. Very brownish gold, hazy with a small ring of loose white head. Malty aroma, some caramel, some hay. Sweet taste, very malt-led, with lightly medicinal British hops in the balancing finish. Light citrus peel in the finish. Full body with soft carbonation. Dull but refreshing.

500ml bottle from Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill. Hazy dark gold, medium frothy head, good retention. Sweet apricot and caramel malt aroma with a hint of tangerine. Taste is stewed apricots and caramel malts, hoppy. A bit starchy as per the previous review. Moderate body and carbonation which works well with the ABV. A good bitterness runs throughout including a dry finish. Overall, another good beer from Friday.

500ml bottle condition: BBE May 2018. Poured into a UK pint sleeve glass at home on 30th June 2017. Slight haze to the amber body, smooth off-white blanket of foam on top. Nose is piney, herbal and earthy, all floating alongside a malty base aroma. The taste is also piney, herbal and earthy, again with a good (semi-sweet) malty base. Gets more bitter as it warms in the glass and mouth, almost a sharpening of the bitterness in the finish. Liked it.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - orange but again with a yeasty edge. Taste - more moldy oranges. Palate - light bodied with a tangy texture but a dry yeasty thing going on, means I’m not sure that this is what the brewer intended. Overall - their cask versions get a good write up. I think there’s a bottling issue.

Bottle from Webbs Garden Centre, Wychbold, Worcestershire, Sunday 6th April 2014. Consumed at home, Wednesday 9th April 2014 Pours more light amber than gold, again a little murky initially mid sized white head but now just a small filmy head. A little biscuity with a bitterness at edge. There is a just a slight citrus edge but more malty. Another ok beer from Friday. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
