750mL 2017 bottle drunk 7/31/22, thanks Chalumeaux! Clear, amber-mahogany. Small, tan head fades immediately to ring. Oxidized already with prune, black pepper, a touch of candy-like port character. A bit of alcohol sharpness on the finish. Dry, with raisin, plum, prune and such leading to a weird, astringent bitterness on the finish. Malty depth at least, with good attenuation. This shouldn't be so stale/oxidized already at just five years old. Lingering astringency is unpleasant. But it's not boozey.

Bottle shared at DACBE New Year's share. Thanks to whomever shared this. Pours a murky brown copper color with a finger of beige head and dissipates. Plum, raisin and toffee on the nose with some warming alcohol. Toasted caramel and more toffee and booze on the palate. A bit warming..some chocolate as it warms up a bit. A touch sweet and boozy, but nice enough.

Bottle shared in London - sourced via Barrel Society. Pours murky brown with a small, bubbly off-white head. Great depth, lots of dried dark fruits, low bitterness, rich toffee, maple, cherry, rum, brown sugar. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sticky sweet, more stewed berries, toffee and brown sugar. Really good.

Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to LKS. Hazy amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry and a little thin. Modest fine carbonation. Smooth and semi dry malts, slightly bitterish caramel toffee malts. Bitterish woody bourbon finish. Quite thin and lacking a touch of sweetness. Decently bourbon but thin and I like my BWs a little sweeter.
