As you know, here at Cantillon we take the utmost care to produce our beer as naturally as possible. Because the Muscat grapes used for the Vigneronne were not organic, we decided to move to an organic producer and to use wine grapes instead of table grapes. After some research, we couldn't find organic Muscat, but we did find organic Viognier grapes.
We love Viognier wine; aromatic and delicate, with nice fruity notes. We're sure that all these qualities will pair well with Lambic.The grapes come from Minervois area in the South of France, cultivated in a more natural way on a clay-limestone soil.
Even though we decided to move from Muscat grapes to Viognier, the name will remain the same. We did decide to change the label to avoid any confusion between past releases with Muscat grapes. The new one features a fantastic design by our wonderful graphist and friend, Ammo.

0,75l from bottle at the brewery. yellow very hazy color, small white head. smells grapes, earthy, fuzzy, fragrant. Very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes Brett, herbal, citric, tobacco, funky, earthy. finishes dry and light to medium sour with notes of citric, funky and earthy notes. Very nice one, rather on the door side though, not the most grape forward

On tap at Muted Horn, Berlin, shared with little Dina. Cloudy golden, small off-white head. Funky and spicy at first, vinous, berries, white grapes, also some grape leaves. Behind it, nice esters, ripe pear. Light to medium body, effervescent, moderate to high carbonation. Lemony and sour grapes sourness. Hints of bitter grapefruit. Sharp. Quite phenolic, spicy, bitter finish. Light kinda abrupt finish.

Bottle at Unexpected Tasting 1.8.2024. Thin body, rather low carbonation. Med-high sourness, quite clean though, in terms of pretty low acetic. Lots of wild barnyard character, horsey, leathery. Medium white winey character, grassy, minty. Good, easy drinking, feels too clean though, the funk too vlwan cut too.

Unexpected tasting 08/2024. Sour funky aroma and taste, wooden barrell notes, white wine notes, medium sour. Medium body, funky sour finish. Good.

Unexpected tasting 01/08. Hazy orange golden color with minimal white head. Vinous aroma, grapes, funk, lemony. Taste is moderate sour, grapes, lemon, funk, bayrnard. Nice.

On tap at De Garde. Pours gold. Musty, sweet white grape, funk, grain, floral, marzipan, grapefruit, papaya. Medium body. Solid.
