0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl'. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, powdery, gently roasty aroma of coffee, cocoa and a touch of dark fruits. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty taste of quite some coffee, cocoa, a touch of dark fruits and hints of vanilla, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, gently earthy, moderately dry finish with traces of whisky. Medium to full body, rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid Imperial Stout, unfortunately too effervescent and only hints of whisky. Rather simple overall, not very complex but quite saturating at least. Doesn't really benefit from the barrel aging, actually the base beer itself was more convincing.

Bottle at Maakun’s. Black with tan head. Deep asphalt roast. Old creaky oak wood, deep dark roasty, dark berry fruity, licoricy, inky. Sweet and bitter. Firm and ballsy toasted BA stout. Bit dry and bitter.

Bottle sharsd thanks to sjogro. Black with dark brown head. Roasted malts, tar, red berries, dry whisky notes, old dusty wood, toffee, ashy. Medium sweet, quite bitter and very light tart. Almost full bodied. Massive barrel notes, but still a nice beer underneath. Definately not balanced at all though.

Enjoyed at home during Lockdown ‘20. Black with a small and short lived beige head. Aroma of strong oak barrel, lighter Scotch, coffee, chocolate, roast and dark malts. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied (thinned by the barrel) and soft carbonation with a warming finish.
