Pours a very dark amber, to medium light brown. Small (cold) haze aspect to it. Medium to medium small white, fairly creamy, stable head. Scent is nice, roasty maltyness ( brown bread rather than burnt malts) some isoamylacetate. Very distant whiff of lambic, fairly silent on the oak aspect. Taste is full, brown bread. Very mildly acidic. Toasty, breadcrusts. Milkchocolate. More to the sweet side than the sour side, but not sticky or exhausting. Definately estery, banana esters take the lead but arent over the top. Medium body, medium high carbo. Tastes somewhat like a (very good) quad to me. Quite enjoyable indeed !!

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of brett, red fruit, sweet malts. Taste is sweet, raisins, caramel along with sweet vinous notes, brett. Very interesting. Great beer.

5/X/21 - 33cl bottle @ ‘t Poorthuys (Bokrijk), BB: 9/III/25, L00691 10:02:04 (2021-1138)
Pretty clear reddish brown beer, huge creamy beige fluffy dense head; stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of dried fruits, malty, some chocolate, yeasty, banana, some caramel, good stuff! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty sweet start, malty, lots of carmel, more caramel, some banana, dried fruits, milk chocolate. Aftertaste: gentle roast, chocolate, dried fruits, sweet, ripe banana, caramel, nice one if a bit sweet, little oxidized, bit leathery, prunes, rather nice, like it a lot!

Beer created for the open air museum of Bokrijk in Genk, Limburg, sold only there and containing malted spelt and Boon lambic; likely a variation on the recipe of Boon's own Duivels Bier, but sold as an Oud-Maaslands beer, referring to the old tradition of blending top-fermented beer with lambic ('versnijbier'). Frothy, egg-white, thick and mousy, slowly opening head, clear warm, beautifully pure amber coloured robe with darker copper hue, and light visible sparkling here and there, lightly misty with sediment. Aroma of freshly cut red apples, caramel candy, unripe nectarine, chewing gum, hint of blood orange, fresh figs, dry hay, brown bread crust, white port wine, background hint of nutmeg and of sewer water when the sediment is added. Fruity onset, hinting at nectarine, banana and even orange, quite pronounced candi sugar sweetness, balanced with a light redcurrant-ish sour streak; lively fizz, bubblegummy edges on a caramelly malt sweet body, a tad resinous even, but remaining smooth; the residual sugars stick a bit, but luckily there's this lambic tartness in the end, subdued and soft but still doing its work by adding a certain degree of dryness to the finish. Soft, late hayish and earthy hop bitter touch and a warming, somewhat liqueurish alcohol effect round things off - but funky or astringent Brett or microbial effects, which could have added so much depth here, remain all but absent. Very easygoing, clearly kept sweet, streamlined and accessible for a larger audience, but enjoyable as such; for me personally this could have done with a lot more lambic though, as the lambic effect remains faint and simplistic.
