The house beer at De Bierkamer, a young beer pub in the fields of Ertvelde, and named after the owner’s son, apparently. Made with no less than five different hop varieties (Fuggles, Amarillo, Styrian, Cascade and Challenger). Thick, off-white head, hazy amber colour. Strong green hops in the nose, chamomille, orange peel, bitter honey, red apples, caramel. Soft and refreshing orange-like onset, some apple and pineapple sweetishness, caramelly maltiness, yeasty and nicely evolving into an assertive, peppery, long, pretty complex, dry hop bitter finish. I’d say this qualifies as an IPA. Recommended, as well as the pub itself.

Husølet fra flaske på De Bierkamer i Kluizen 30 Apr 11. Aprikosfarget. Uklar. Høyt kremaktig skum. Svakt krydret aroma. Smaken også dominert av krydder med innslag av søt frukt. (Prologen TdGeuze 2011).

Bottle, at De Bierkamer. An unclear, golden orange beer with a white finger-thick head. Pale malts, some yeast and fruityness on the nose. Mostly citrusy fruits like lemon and orange. A touch of apples too though. It feels sweet, yet dry, on the palate, slightly warming and with a solid body. Piney, grassy hops and some oranges and a decent bitterness towards the end. In my opinion, a bit sweet, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 110430

330ml bottle @ De Bierkamer. Slightly cloudy golden body with a creamy white head. Aroma of grain, grass, spices and fruits – feels somehow sweet. Flavor is sweet malt, sugar, tiny hint of caramel, citric fruit, spices and mild hops. Decent but not very complex, like a sweet pale ale.

330ml bottle, house beer, with the food at De Bierkamer. Golden body. Huge, bubble white head, mostly diminishing. Grass fruity aroma. Taste of lemony hops with a tad of spices and candy sweetness. Rounded bittersweet ending. Food friendly (Ertvelde, 30.04.2011).

28/05/2011 33cl bottle @ De Bierkamer Ertvelde - bottledate: 4/2011 (2011-239)

Little cloudy yellowish to orange beer, white creamy head, very stable and adhesive. Aroma: (served a little too cold) typical yeast, on warming up more herbal and a bit grassy. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: very malty, bit fruity, grapefruits. Aftertaste: turning to a pleasant hop bitter, dry with citrus notes.
