Can from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. The aroma unfolds as a potent blast of beany coffee with roasted malt, mocha, coffee grounds, a touch of milky chocolate, and more coffee. Flavour is light sweet with a fairly firm roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Blessed cold coffee wizardry, very good.

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Road. Appearance - black and opaque, crema head. Nose - dark chocolate and coffee mainly. Taste - chocolate cake send tiramisu. Palate - medium bodied at least. Creamy and sweet but the coffee adds a pleasant dryness. Overall - good beer, well executed!

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Stas. Black, tan foam. Lots of coffee, mocha, espresso, roast, sweetish with a sourish roasty note, bitterish finish. Pretty nice.

Tap @ Flink Gegist. Almost black. Coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma. Thinnish, malt, roast, chocolate and coffee in the flavor.

2nd March 2019
Can. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation, suitable for this beer. Soft dark malts, slightly tangy. The coffee is evident and carries over from the nose. Rich but never overpowering. A touch of earth and a whisper of esters. Smooth and notably fruity coffee main show. Bergamot? Yeah I get that from the can description, not so the black tea though. Smooth and slightly tangy finish. BBN have got the art of the single bean coffee porter down very well.

Can from the brewery at Bermondsey and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. It's got a lot of coffee and chocolate. But mostly coffee. And as a coffee head I love it. Like my mum's coffee and chocolate cake with coffee butter icing in the middle and on top. Chocolate sponge, coffee butter icing. Perfect. Loved it. Very good coffee. Very good integration of flavours. Some sweetness some dryness. I liked it a lot. Just magic. So evocative of my mum's coffee cake I can't tell you. Took me back to my childhood Sunday tea time, cake, in front of the fire on a Sunday watching Antiques Roadshow with Arthur Negus. I challenge any Rater to name check Arther Negus.
