Pours viscously to mossy tan-brown rim over jet-black beer. Phenols, smokey, Islay malts, tarred poles. Mineral, almost salty, smoked, Rauchmalz, whisky; with a strange but pleasing sweetness, +/- chocolatey flavour. Pralines, and a fruity, grapey, very mild acidity. Outstanding, viscous, chewy but with a velvety texture. Alcoholheat, if nowhere as much as the claimed 12.8 would warrant. Nearly chilli effect. Excellent beer, an Imperial Stout, barrel aged, and just as such thing ought to be!

Zoete chocolade, beperkt aroma, flinke chocolade, geroosterd, drop, scherpe whisky, lichte turf, ‘t is een mega blend geworden dit, van alles wat door elkaar. Ach ja Uiltje...

Bottle. Dark brown, light yellow foam. Aroma: vanilla, sweetness, peat smoke, caramel, sherry, butterscotch, dried fruit, smoked cheese, raisins, very good. Taste: smoked, ashes, prunes, sherry, vanilla, softly, caramel, chocolate, great beer!

Bottle at home, 28th May 2020, picked up at Dynamo, Brussels. Wow this is a cracking beer. Pours a black beer. Aroma is liquorice, barrel, molasses. Taste is absolutely fantastic, liquorice, dry barrel, peat, wood, liquor, whiskey, molasses, dry and a great lingering finish. Takes me back to the great days of Emelisse and De Molen BA Imperial Stouts, this is a brilliant beer.

Bottle, 330 ml, shared with Max, Miro B and kajser27. Dark brown with tan head. Peat, smoke, chocolate, bourbon, bit fruity, bitterish finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle shared at the Beau London tasting 11/03/2020. Many thanks to Daniel Osprey. A dark brown black coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, smokey roast, peat, brown sugars, salt. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, salty, roast, boozy, liquorice, warming whiskey, peaty, . Palate is medium sweet, velvety, smooth, oily, moderate carbonation.

33cl fles van Uiltje Taproom. Zwart, bruine kraag. Aroma van whisky, turf, soyasaus, flink wat booze, rozijnen, vanille. Smaak is vol, flink wat turf, kruidige en zoete whisky, alcohol, stroop, soyasaus, geroosterde smaken, zoet en bitter. Geen spoortje groene appel te bekennen. De vorige sequences waren echt dramatisch slecht, dit is een topper.
