A rich stout full of mokka, coffee and liquorice flavours. Aged on Islay whisky barrels which bring nice peated flavours, of course whisky notes and a nice alcoholic finish. This results in a very complex beer with outspoken flavours, the perfect beer for the Islay whisky connoisseur.

330ml bottle [BBD 12.06.22]. Darkest brown colour with a minimally late awakening, thin, fading layer of tiny, tan bubbles. BA supported, sweet-ish, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of peat, leather, dark caramel, some toffee. Taste is BA supported, dark and caramel malty, minimally alcoholic, notes of dark caramel, toffee, peat, leather, a tannic touch of oak; minimally warming, alcoholic finish.
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation.
Still in good shape, quite distinct, focussed flavours, BA dominated but not overdone - nice sipper.

Bottle shared. Black with small dark beige head. Licorice, lots of peat, brown sugar, ash, blackberries, jammy, glue, green apples, lots of coffee. Solid sweet, lighter bitter and a touch of tartness. Full bodied. The peat and glue overwhelms everything, but it's a pretty good beer if you look a bit beyond that. Overall way too rough for me though.

almost black colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of unripe plum, peat, whisky notes, dark chocolate and slight anise; taste has basically the same notes with some burnt sugar herbal liqueur and alcoholic notes; good one!

Bottle. Color: Almost black, no head. Aroma: Roasted malt, boozy, some peat and hints of iodine. Taste: Roasted malt, moderate sweet and moderate bitter, slightly salty. Umami. Alcohol, boozy. Iodine, some peat and hints of smoke. Some liquorice, dark chocolate and coffee too. Over medium body, somewhat less than expected from this kind of beer. Low carbonation. Bit sticky mouthfeel. Whisky is overwhelming the base beer. Ok.

Behoorlijk spiritussmaak, maar gek genoeg aardige balans.
