Saison brewed with american yeast, rather than saison yeast, but based on a recipe from a saison.

F: huge, white, not long lasting. C: milky pale gold, hazy, opaque. A: fruity, peach, floral, bit yeasty, orange peels. T: malty backbone, floral, earthy, grapefruit, peach, long lasting bitterness on the palate, bit tangerine, medium body and carbonation, for Saison very bitter probably American hops not only the yeast but I like this, 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks in Brussels.

Bottle from the Brewery. Pours unclear, yellow. Small white head, rather unstable, but not extremely so. Smell is extremely rich and grainy, very full and very, very intense. Taste is bitter, really sharp, herbal hoppyness. Mild grassy aroma's. Very malty undertone. Lower side of mouthfeel and carbo. Really nice, actually. Bit weird how they call this a saison, withoud using the typical yeast, but the beer does work , and does remins of a saison a bit. Pretty good, if they amped up the mouthfeel a bit this would be even better.

330 ml. bottle @ home. “Laboratoire D’Alchimie 1 – Saison de l’Ermite”. BBF 01/09/2018. Hops: Chinook, Centennial & Ekuanot. Possibly already brewed at their own location & not at Bastogne. Bright BE golden, looks like something that belongs in a TV ad, creamy big bubbles white head. Nose is lightly milky, hop is muted, sweet bread, milky, almost vanilla, sweet grainy, vague esters buried underneath. Smell is a bit neither here or there but taste is lovely. Clean round, bit lively in proper fashion, hugely drinkable, grain, good corn, bread, round almost complimentary sweet, very vague vanilla, big lovely grain but not heavy, hugely drinkable, finish carries hop bitterness, bitter grain, raw wheat, almost weeds, lingering, not the classical USA hop bitter you would expect but it fits greatly, lingering near plastic in a good way, BE esters. Overall a great clean round restrained bitter BE beer in De La Senne & De Ranke tradition. Damn lovely especially given the mess that saison has become. I am getting more & more excited about these guys. High hopes for their own brewery.

Dégustations de l'Amère à Boire. Their newest creation. Pear, but also a bit of banana flavour. Nice!
