Thanks to tderoeck, Bierridder_S & Rubin77. Sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2018. Ugly hazy orange with a nice solid creamy head. Nose is massive banana & soap in the worst BE fashion, esters, yeast & real explosion of soap. Taste is soap to the max, phenolic, banana, bad esters, dead yeast nasty finish,.. Soap & yeast in the bad ways body ways. Yeah. Surprised by the other great scores, did I miss something?

The first beer from a new beer company ('bierfirma') in Zwevegem, bottle from Diesters Bierfestival, brewed at Eutropius. Very frothy, thick, foamy, moussy, egg-white head with thickly 'membranous' lacing and remaining more or less closed for a relatively long time, on top of a hazy, ochre-hued peach blonde beer, turning deeper ochre and cloudy with sediment. Aroma of freshly cut grass and straw, soapy wheat, dried peach, light bubblegum, lots of fresh camomile, green gooseberry juice, stewed rhubarb, ripe red apple, pear even, white bread, pineapple, raw potato peel, baker's yeast, dry earth, raw angelica stems, white pepper, soapy-dusty coriander seed, dried rosemary, powder sugar sprinkled on Brussels' waffles, even a touch of vanilla-flavoured milk somewhere. Crisp, fruity onset, sweetened by banana ester, hints of candied apple, ripe pear and pineapple, some apricot, sourish hint, lively carbonated but not over the top for a Belgian blonde, which is essentially what this is; smooth and lean mouthfeel. Pleasantly bready, bit cereally maltiness in the middle, soapy 'wheatiness' too but not bothersome, adorned with ongoing esters and some spicy, moderately clove-like phenols, leading to a bitterish 'bite' in the finish, a tad herbal (dried basil), grassy and very floral (camomile), providing a late but effective, lightly wormwood-like bitterness. Yeasty features as well, bit phenolic, some lingering esteriness, a tad earthy but not at all 'dirty' to the point where it becomes too much. Juicy, elegantly hoppy but otherwise still very stereotypical Belgian blonde in spite of the use of Cascade and Amarillo - the exotic, orange-like properties of which still add 'fraîcheur' and fragrance, but in a way that seems too subtle for what it could have done. I'd love to see these new micro breweries and beer companies being a bit more audacious in this country - this is just another 'compromise' basically, an ordinary and inappropriately 'balanced' (read: safe) Belgian blonde with only the mildest touch of New World hoppiness. Even this type of beers, though young, add little to the existing beer database in Belgium, simply because this has been done before. Be different and don't be afraid, I'd say! By itself, though: very pleasant, elegant, bit 'summery' and highly quenching beer, don't get me wrong.

Pretty cloudy and beige beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit smoky start, pretty fruity, some mango, passion fruits, citrus, some grapefruit, little malty. MF: very lively carbon, too much, medium to light body. Taste: pretty sweet start, fruity, some citrus, bitter hops, bit grassy, banana peel. Aftertaste: ripe banana, malty, slightly sourish, citrus, very yeasty, little dirty, funky notes, some tropical fruits, grapefruit.
