Cascade, Amarillo...c'est un duo qui met plutôt la bière à la bouche. Mais il est dommage de voir que ceux-ci sont si mal utilisés abec cette bière qui brille par sa structure déséquilibrée. Côté visuel, c'est très acceptable avec un blond doré limpide (EBC de 7) qui aurait tout de même mérité davantage de mousse, celle-ci n'arrivant pas à recouvrir la surface. Le nez est relativement simple mais agréable avec des agrumes, du miel et floral. L'attaque nous fait perdre nos espoirs. La structure déséquilibrée notamment par de l'acidité qui ne permet pas aux arômes de miel, de pêche, d'agrumes et d'épices de s'exprimer convenablement. On perd également ce côté floral donnant moins de charme à l'ensemble. La deuxième bouche voit les arômes épicés se renforcer (poivre et coriandre). La présence en bouche est également trop juste. L'arrière bouche est quant à elle complètement déséquilibrée avec une acidité trop marquée et une expression aromatique très limitée. Le final, un peu court nous réconcilie tout de même quelque peu avec cette Julia, plus équilibré et moins épicé, on y retrouve un trio pêche/agrumes/miel. Si l'alcool à 5,7 % y est très honnête, l'amertume à 25 d'IBU aurait mérité d'être poussée. Trop d'imperfections.

22/02/2019 - 33cl bottle @De Kleinkeuken, Kortrjk. Hazy dark yellow, medium white head. Nose is malts, bit fruity hops. Taste sweet malt, banana, light bitter hops.

Slightly unclear medium golden colour, good frothy white head, dissipates slowly, light lacing. Aroma grainy, Belgian yeast, peach, apricot, grassy notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, yeasty, bit fruity, light herbal touch. Rather neutral sweetbitter aftertaste, some spicy notes in the finish. medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, nice.

Thick-set, dense light-yellow head, pitting in over hazy orange-golden beer; end of bottle solid yeast. Creamy nose, with hints @ slightly smoked and lightly toasted malts; spicy malts & hops. Quite bitter, spicy, strawlike, herbal and very intensely aromatic. Creates a very wry, bitter aftertaste backthroat. Wet cardboard, remaining bitter throughout. Creamy MF, very well-carbonated, some wheatslickness. Special. I can't place the impact of the hops, but it's definitely not unpalatable. 6/4/8/4/14

Bottle at Staminee de Boulevard, Kortrijk, West Flanders, Belgium Friday 27th April 2018 Pours very orange (squash like even) a little white head. Initially very soft, a touch of vanilla, spice and a little yeast. Fine but rarely excites. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Pours a tad unclear blonde. Medium-small white head, rather low stability. Minor lacing. White in color. Smell is mild, but mostly, hoparomatics ( fruity, tad of perceived 'sweetness' by the amarillo hops, yet it's noticable that this aint a single hop beer. Taste is sharp, due to very high carbonation ( oh Belgian ale, how i dislike thee gas, agressive as it be ) mild aromatic features of the hops, medium bitterness. mild malty undertone ( it's there, but too subtile to really counterbalance the carbonation that takes away so much of the taste) . Decent beer, free from any serious flaws (after all, to much CO2 is a personal opinion, not a flaw ) so i'll be curious as to wether they'll release more experimental beers after this.

F: huge, off-white, long lasting. C: pale gold, hazy. A: malty, some citrus, fruity, yeasty, bit tropical fruits. T: malty, very yeasty, bit orange peels, bit spicy, medium body and carbonation, nothing special. Sample shared with tderoeck, 77ships and Bierridder_S @ Bruges Beer Festival 2018.

Hazy pale golden with a diminishing, frothy, white head. Aroma of flowers, flowery hops, pineapple, mango, lemon, yeast, some spices. Tastes medium hoppy bitter and very light fruity/flowery sweet; slightly bitter, dry, wheaty finish. Light/medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Somewhat soapy effect in the end. Quenching, yes, and the aroma is somewhat unusual, but the end product is nothing new...
