Somewhat idiosyncratic Austrian beer with irregular, loosely structured, light beige head and hazy bronze colour with amber hue. Aroma of toasted bread, overripe plums, flowers, some banana, redcurrant, dates, freshly fermented farmland. Estery, fruity, sweetish onset (fig, raisin) with soft sourish edge, some dried banana, fluffy mouthfeel, smooth caramelly malt sweetness becoming a bit toasted in the end paired with mild herbal hop bitterishness, some powdery yeastiness and a spicy flavour which I assume comes from the Epimedium plant apparently used in this. The alcohol provides a bit of warmth but I would never have guessed this is a 9%+ beer. Nor would I have guessed this is made in Austria, this feels a lot like a spiced Belgian winter ale...

Thanks Mladen! Shared with the others. Dark amber-red body with an off white small head. Malty, caramelly, raisiny aroma, nice enough. Taste... yeah, caramell, herbal notes, nutty, nicely grainy. Dry finish. Well, definitely good for the strength/style. Couldn’t sense that herb but still... maybe it would’ve been more effective if I drank the entire bottle. :D Couldn’t find any flaws with it and the ABV is very well hidden.

F: beige, average lasting. C: opaque, hazy, brown. A: herbal with some like bacon, sugary, yeasty. T: smooth, oily mouthfeel, like woody tones with some pudding, cinnamon, honey, dusty like, spicy, some dry herbal bitterness on the palate, not my cup of tea but interesting and worth to try.

Ruby to brown colored, clear, medium beige creamy head. Aroma is malty, bit of caramel, more toasty some dried fruits and green apples. Taste is medium sweet toffee, burnt sugar, nutty, dried fruits, again green apples, some low+ herbal bitterness. Alcohol is hidden well enough. Medium bodied and carbonation. Flasch’n: Deep ruby-amber coloured, floaties visible, small and persistent off-white head; relatively dry nose of dried fruits and caramel and some unknown spices; moderate to solid -relatively- bitter flavour with a delicate sweetness, pretty light bodied for a beer of 9.2%; lingering vinous and caramelly finish. O.K., surely nothing special…

Horny Betty 9.2% is brewed with horny goat weed according to ratebeer, am not sure what that is... it pours a deep amber brown that is what I’d expect from a Vienna or Amber beer. The nose is caramel with a tangy spice quality to it. Medium bodied with a zesty carbonation, the flavor is malty light caramel, maybe wheat with a light spicy bite and a touch of green herbalness. Interesting, it gives me quite a herbal green edge maybe from the horny goat weed with big yeasty weizen notes.
