This year we have forged a new relationship with Copper & Kings American Craft Brandy and have switched out the bourbon barrels for a Wisconsin favorite, brandy. You can expect a fruitier, more wine like flavor from the brandy barrels to compliment the caramel flavors in the malt bill. Warm hints of vanilla are pulled from the oak.

Keg at the 9th Street location, 1/20/19. Hazy orange, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of vanilla, brandy, oak, bready malt. Taste is vanilla, brandy, oak, raisin. Medium-full bodied, hot.

Bottle. A- Baked apples, vanilla, caramel, brandy, oak, slightly sweet. A- Copper color, murky liquid, off white head. T- Baked apples, vanilla, burnt caramel, molasses, brandy, oak, slightly sweet, mild cinnamon. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- This tasted like fresh baked apples. Nicely balanced flavors and definitely a sipper although it doesn't feel boozy and drinks easy. Pretty great stuff actually. Smooth and delightful.

Pours a muddy looking brown from a bottle, very thin off-white head quickly dissipates, kind of looks like shit soda. Big brandy aroma is nice, but turns thin with little malt or other backbone to support it. Okay beer.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered amber-brown body. Foamy, steady, beige head. Boozy, thick aroma, touches of caramel and barrel. The brandy works pretty well with the amber malt. Full and boozy, but also pleasant and sweet in a way. Solid offering.

Chalumeaux with the 12 oz share. Much thanks. Nice deep red color, thin bubbly white head. Aroma is rich with toffee, vanilla, light brandy character Flavor is pretty nice, vanilla is noticed with a mild woody hint, The barrel aging is no doubt the start in this show. The base amber is just lightly noticed. It shows a light warming after the sip without a harsh alcohol burn.

Make no mistake this is a beast. Easy to drink but should be sipped.

An interesting brew. Drinks similar to a barley wine. Sweet malts and darknfruit nites. Soft brandy, brown sugar, caramel. Full bodied. Finish is boozy but not hot. Enjoyable.
