Roast and a little milk. Black pour with great mocha head. Some mocha aroma as well. Dark chocolate. Bitter finish. Tap at Pour Authority.

Can from Withey's Health Foods in Kalispell, MT. Pours a pitch black color with ruby highlights and a tight beige head with very good retention. Good lacing. Dark milk chocolate aroma. The taste follows the nose: Sweet (but not too sweet) dark chocolate and malt flavor dominates. The lactose and vanilla are very mild. Medium-heavy body and a semi-creamy mouthfeel. Low carbonation and almost no bitterness. Rich, yet repeatable. Very good.

Black with beige head. Full bodied. Roasted malt, chocolate, anise, a bit spicy. Finish is sweet and molasses. Solid especially with the low abv.

Can from Brewers Haven. Maybe it’s the fact that I just drank Son of a Baptist, but this seems kind of light. Milk sweetness evident in taste, but all around seems kind of weak and thin. Woody aroma, thin body, overly sweet taste.

12 oz can. This is a 2015 can so ignore the entry title. It’s also 4.5% ABV, so maybe this year’s version deserves a separate entry? Aroma is bready, orange candy circus peanuts, roasty, coffee, nutty. Thankfully the circus peanut off-putting aroma goes away mostly, leaving all other nice smelling deScriptors in place. Pours black with brown edges and a medium tan head with good retention. Taste is sweet and roasty, faint tartness, light bitterness. Kind of chalky. Not bad.

2016-02-05, tasting at Eugene’s, can, 6-3-6-2-11=28
Black color, small head. Light dark beer, ethereal mouthfeel, light flavor of dark caramel, no bitterness, lightly chocolatey.

2015-01-02, draught at the brewery, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Black color. Medium dry but with a good body strength; I was afraid, but luckily the vanilla is almost absent, while it has a light lactose touch and moderate sweetness; also not too roasty. Hence it’s a pleasant beer.
