Can. Pours opaque black, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is molasses, bourbon, charred wood, dark chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium plus bitter. Full body, heavy roast. Interesting. Definitely not a pastry stout :)

16oz can from Bert's. Near black pour, thick beige, creamy head. Aroma is roasty and sweet, chocolate. Taste continues, sweet chocolatey notes, light roast. Not much sign of the bourbon, but really enjoying the flavors. Very approachable RIS.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color, beige head. Very nice aroma, dark malts, chocolate, hints of tobacco and vanilla, cookies. Good body, good chocolate flavor, sweet, the booze is very nice, some bread and cookies, hints of vanilla.
Balanced, vibrant, fruity. Excellent.

Dark brown. Thin head is more of a medium brown. The bourbon comes through a bit on the nose, as does a little bit of wood. The malts are dark, maybe a bit of milk chocolate to them, but also indistinct dark fruits are coming across on the aroma as well. There’s a fair bit of sugar on the palate, though. It’s kind of mapley - ok that’s likely more bourbony vanillins - and that pulls a light roast across the palate.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, followed by dark fruits. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of bourbon barrels upfront that dominate; secondary notes of toasted caramel and a touch of roast. Very nice bourbon barrel character to it. Not the most complex or refined BA impie, but this is very nice.

Brown with a medium khaki head. Aroma is roasted malts, booze, oak, light chocolate, some earth, bourbon, molasses, too. Full, creamy body. Finish has hot booze with some light vanilla bourbon notes that fade to oak and molasses. A nice barrel aged Impy.
