Bottle at share. Rich copper color, small bubbly head. Sweet caramelly aroma, boozy. Taste adds some Belgian yeast and candy sugar, working splendidly with the cognac. Smooth

Kind of a muddy light brown colour. Big boozy aroma in which the cognac is very evident, there’s a bit yeasty. It’s a bit fizzy on the palate, but also has this really rich sweetness, almost molasses, that comes through with a bit of barrel, a touch of alcohol. Not overtly Belgian other than a little bit of ester and high carbonation - could almost just call it a barley wine. It’s interesting, a beer you want to study a bit, but part of it is that the flavours are a little bit muted. There’s probably something here, but this particular batch isn’t quite where it could be.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out notes of candied sugar, cognac liqueur, floral notes and some alcohol. Flavour is floral, with lots of cognac, candied sugar, toffee and overripe red fruits. Not particularly well-integrated and quite boozy. Fairly messy, but it works okay.

Bold dark malts, ripe fruit, raisin, some medium barrel notes, boozy. Full bodied. Complex and well put together. A very enjoyable BSA.
