12oz can pours a watery, dark brown with a ring of white head. Nose has malt, toast, brown sugar, some yeast, a little dried plum. Flavor has plenty of malt and toast, mild chocolate, some coffee, brown sugar, licorice. Medium bodied and dry. Drinks like 4.2%, not 8.2%.

Dark with ruby highlights and a beige head. Medium roasted malts, chocolate, a bit of earthy hops. Full, smooth body with a light bite from the carbonation. A bit of bittersweet roasted malts, slight coffee notes, burnt toast. Finish is medium bitter roast. This is a nice impy, though a little one-dimensional. I wouldn’t have a problem having more than one of these.

Sample at Kurtkeller 020: Stout-tastic 01 on 02/22/2015. The beer is a dark brownish-black color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and a touch of hops. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, chocolate and mild earthy coffee. The finish is roasty with a malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
