Liquid cake. That’s exactly what this is. It has all the complexities of your dark holiday favorites. Thick, creamy, vanilla, chocolate, coconut… and cinnamon of course. Cinnamon that really ties the beer together. Festive!
Magnus here at the brewery had been toying around with the idea for a cinnamon stout for quite some time before we brewed this one. There’s something really intuitive about putting cinnamon in a dark beer. Even in theory, it just seems to work. Turns out, it works in practice too. We backed up the cinnamon with some cocoa, vanilla and coconut. To really build and layer the flavors. We think this is a year round holiday beer. If that makes any sense.

Keg at Bottle Shop. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, roasted malt, sticky, oily, cinnamon roll, vanilla, toasty, bounty bar, dark chocolate and earth. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, slick, oily, rocky road, treacle, chocolate, chewy roast, earth, some alcohol, cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, some creaminess with a slick finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Good fun and well rounded.

Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry spiced, weeds, dark malts, cinnamon, grass, bark, raisins, fruit stones, dark sugar, unripe banana, hay. Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, dark malts, dark sugar, cinnamon, hay, minerals, bark, fruit stones, raisins, lactose, paper, chocolate, toast, caramel. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet mineraly mouthfeel. Nice enough.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours black-brown with a creamy, lasting beige head. Fun baked goods in the snout, cocoa, coffee cake, cinnamon buns, pumpkin pie. Medium to big sweet flavour, with more pumpkin pie, bittersweet chocolate, some booze, mild roast. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm to hot in the finish, with some toasted cinnamon buns, chocolate cake, coffee accents. Warming alcohol in the throat that lingers. Very enjoyable overall, in a silly kind of way.

Keg at the bottle shop druid Street during the tap takeover. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a a lasting frothy mid tan head. Aroma is woody, tangy apple, spices, cinammon bun, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of full, brown sugars, burnt brown sugars, spicy, light woody bark, marshmallow. Palate is medium sweet, frothy,. Full and creamy. L overly.

Keg at Bottle shop. Pours black with a big thick dirty tan head. Aroma is cocoa and cinnamon. Taste is a lovely cinnamon, chocolate, brioche with a little boozy hit on the end. Not too sweet. This is great stuff.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Black, creamy mocha head. Nose is massive lovely cinnamon, pleasantly boozy & chocolate syrup. Massive cinnamon taste lingering, highly tasty with great chocolate syrup, sweet chocolate, low roast, pralines, very thick, chocolate milk. Wonderful.
