Location: 12 oz can from Buy Rite, 5/26/13

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, grainy and bready, a bit of fruit, and some grassy notes
Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that leaves almost no lace
Flavor: The taste is grainy and malty, a bit sweet, and with a light grassy hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, though it feels fuller in this style, with a fizzy carbonation
Overall Impression: Decent stuff. I didn't love this one, but it is another solid canned beer that I could see working well in the correct circumstances for sure.

Clear golden coloured body with a bit of a peach glow and a thinnish, one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, lemons, metal and a hint of light grassiness. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol flavour with a pungent bite of earth, apricots and a lot of metallic notes with an offputting alcohol warmth. Aftertaste shows a bit too much body for the style and for any lighter beer, a lot of deep robust flavours that aren’t good (metal, alcohol, etc) and a deep finish. Overall, not such a great beer - and easily worth passing over - too strong and pungent for the style and in general. I sampled this 12 ounce can purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$1.49 sampled at home in Washington on 15-April-2013.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Can from my brother in Philly, enjoyed on a visit there. Pours a rich, dark-ish golden, head is foamy, but fades fat. Aroma is on target for a heller bock, sweet malts, some bittering hops. Taste also fits the profile, sweet malts with a bit more heft than the normal German brews. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Nice spring beer.

12 ounce can shared at Beer Run. Pours a clear golden color with a thin creamy head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee malts and honey. The taste is toffee, burnt sugar, berries and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Solid.

can pours deep gold with a medium khaki head. Aroma is big floral honey and cereal malts. Flavor is rich pale and cereal malts upfront giving way to sweet honey and a finish that is slightly metallic. Not bad.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a dark golden amber color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was table sugar and candied golden fruits. The flavor was dryish and tangy with notes of bread, sugar, pepper and prominent alcohol. The finish was medium length and dry with sugar and bread lingering. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

Clear orange with a white head. Sweet aroma, malts, light booze. Flavor is full of sweet malts, light honey, a bit herbal, and a bit of alcohol heat in the end. Decent but for just 6.6% abv it is a little too hot.

From a purple can. Slight brown pale yellow. Strong rude ale feel, much more than a hellerbock going on here. Does not hide alky well. Seems like much more than 7%. Big alky finish.
