Brown with a decent head. Has a roasted, slight earth hop aroma. Flavor has a deeper roasted malt note, light chocolate, some oak, toffee, and light herbal hops. A decent brown that went down easy.

A golden brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, caramel, nuts and chocolate. In mouth, bitter chocolate and coffee, with no sweetness, very dry. A bizarre porter like brown ale. Good. On tap at Empire, Nov. 17 2007.

Not crazy about browns and not crazy about this. Not much aroma, maybe some plum/maple syrup notes in the aroma. Seemed drier than a usual brown and the flavor became dull and I agree has some sort of metal/burnt/alcohol flavor that is out of touch with this style. Strangely bitter, but that's not a bad thing, still, needs more malt and sugar.
