Golden in color with an intense citrusy, floral aroma due to a lengthy dry hop process. Expect flavors of citrus, fruit, light malt, hints of powdered sugar, and American hops. Finishes clean and dry with a smack of hoppy goodness.

New rating 2016: Generally I don’t re-rate beers but I must say, this is way more bitter today in a bottle than I remember. Strong dull hop aroma thud. So bitter in the mouth, near double IPA range. Pretty much flat or at least that what the impact wants me to think. Long lasting palate wrecking finish. Quite surprized considering how mild my first sample was. Difficult fer sure..................Old rating 2013: 52428 - clear pale with big white head. mild clean beery smell. quite strong initially but not as rude as expected. yes, a milder ipa that may be not over the top for a lager lover. glad to have had a chance to catch this beer.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured an apricot color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter, vague candied fruits, a touch dry and had a hint of cardboard. The flavor was bitter, dryish and a bit tangy with vague fruity hops, cardboard, and touches of honey and bred. Medium length bitter and tangy fruity hops finish. Medium body. Meh.

Tap. Pours hazy golden amber with a medium off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is faint with notes of citrus, pine and passionfruit. Flavor is the same, not much sweetness, light metal on the otherwise dry crisp finish. Light bodied and a bit watery.

Received in trade from mdaschaf, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a slightly hazy deep golden/copper color with a smallish off white head that quickly dissipates to spotty lace. Smells of caramel and toffee with a hint of sherry countered with earthy, herbal, and a hint of citrus hops. I get aged barleywine aromas from this one a bit. Taste is sweet and malty with enough earth and grapefruit to call this an IPA. Medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. Seven and a half percent alcohol is well hidden. This is a nice flavorful beer. Its a bit sweet compared to most ipa’s and a few more ounces of hops especially late in the boil would have been nice, but I could drink some of these.

Clear copper with a nice head. Full aroma of citrus and earthy hops with some biscuit malts, too. Flavor has a sharp lemony bite to it that fades into some light floral and citrus hops. A layer of malt really stands this one up. A real solid IPA.

Location: Original rating from Sept 2008, bottle from Norm's

Overall Impression: This one was pretty good, nice bitterness to it, but something tasted just a bit off, not sure if it was the bottle I tried or the beer itself. Will have to try this one again, because I have a feeling I got a slightly bad bottle, but the underlying flavor was quite good.

Deep amber coloured body with some ruby highlights and a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of very strong hops with a malty kick and a pleasant floral nose. Medium-bodied; Strong hops in the taste with some good malt as a backing force of the beer. Aftertaste is dominated by the hops - which is a very good thing. Overall, a very good IPA - very welcome to the area...would like to try some more of this one. Definitely sample this one if you can find it! I sampled this beer on draught as a sampler at the Shirlington Oktoberfest in Arlington, Virginia on 07 October 2006.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours a light mahogany color with a significant beige head. Aroma of resin hop over lightly roasted caramel. Medium+ body with firm and frothy carbonation. Flavor is strong malt with balancing hop. It is a good taste. Maltier than most IPAs, but the bitter stands up to it. Good stuff.

12 ounce bottle from Green Leafe Cafe, New Town location. Bronze pour with little black floaties and a big head. Kinda bland earthy hop aroma. Very bitter and earthy hop taste. Medium body. Pleasant, but not very complex.

Bottle. Hazy, dark amber body with a small, off-white head. The aroma is initially citrusy with notes of orange and grapefruit with a hint of grass. Strong malty notes of grain, toast and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter and moderately acidic. The finish is lightly bitter, but is lasting. Medium body with a fairly smooth texture, just slightly on the watery side. Average carbonation. Above-average IPA, but not as clean (too heavy on the malts) nor as robust in aroma as my favorite India pale ales. Thanks to BigMaze.
