Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, a bit of vanilla, some lactose and cream and a touch of cherries near the tail end. Medium-bodied; Very dry malty flavour with a good deal of lactose, some irish creme and full cream notes, a touch of grass and dry herbs, but ending with a dose of coffee and some more roasted malt notes. Aftertaste shows some of the coffee bitterness with a dose of the dry roasted malt notes with a light vanilla note, some oak dryness as well with cream and irish cream towards the end. Overall, a nice and dry malt note with some coffee and light chocolate bitterness towards the end with a good complexity for the alcohol and style, while remaining quite easy to drink and soft around the edges. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 29-April-2018 for US$3,97 sampled at home in Washington a few blocks away on 02-June-2018 with my brother-in-law Brett.

Very roasty malts with some coffee and light herbal tones. Smooth, medium mouthfeel. Light caramel malts with just a touch of smoke. I thought this was a solid stout, actually, and could have downed a few of them.

A thin tan head floats over this opaque black brew. There is a clean roasty aroma that carries a resemblence to espresso. The flavor is roasty though not burnt or bitter, yet this isn’t sweet either. To nit pick, I’d like a bit more body here, but this is still quite quaffable.

Poured a totally opaque black with a whispy, lacing, slightly off white head. Aroma is all roasted malt and nuts. Flavor is heavy roasted malt, hints of coffee, smoke and wood. Smooth on the tongue with a below average bitterness on the finish. Definitely a session beer, one that doesn’t get old the more you drink it.
