The good Sorbian wizard Kramat once lived in the bilangual Lausitz region in Eastern Germany. This lovely beer is dedicated to his history and magical power. Krabat Pils is an enchantingly tangy beer with a fine bitter aroma.

"Wittichenauer Krabat Pils", Flasche von Globus, Hoyerswerda, verkostet 11.11.2025 im Direktvergleich mit dem Wittichenauer Premium Pils (ebenfalls aus der Flasche). - Goldgelb, blank.

Grasig, eher kurzer Abgang, nett. 9/9/9/9/8/9

Pours pale golden with medium sized head. Cereals with a faint hoppy grass aroma. Light malty with a spicy/herbal hop flavor.

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass okay, small head. Starts mild, but quite spicy and really unbalanced. Metallically and dry. Finish a bit better, but still too spicy. Not my favourite.

Bottled@Björntasting. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some herbs and mild earthyness. Flavour is grass, hay, grains, some bready malts and rather metallic notes.

Bottled. Clear pale golden, small head. Cardboardy nose. Dry and light bodied, a bit thin, notes of corn flakes. Low bitterness. Unremarkable.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a small, white, creamy head. Lightly hoppy. Quite solid body with some good malt and hops and a typical German bitterness although not excessively so. Decent but not very sophisticated brew. 300905

Bottle
Pale greenish golden with white foamy head. Herbal hop aroma plus the Wittichnauer signature dusty-gunpowdery note. Lightbodied and tasteless, flat mouthfeel. The Sorbic wizard deserves better.
