500mL botle, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is very muffled, with earthy notes, red fruits, light earth and barely a trace of whiskey barrels. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel, subdued whiskey (surprisingly low smoky), and some earthy toffee. Earthy, malty, but somehow lacking barrel character. Works well, despite not seeming like what it promises.

Hazy light amber. Thin head. The aroma is quite sweet, with some toffee and white sugar notes. On the palate, again quite sweet, a fairly strong vanilla note but not a whole lot of Scotch. Decent.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some Speyside notes and light funky Brett notes are also notice bale. Taste is a well-balanced mix of caramelized malt offset by some woody notes with nice smooth Speyside notes along with a dry funky Brett finish. Body is about average with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Very well balanced and I liked the fact that the Brett notes didn’t end up dominating all the flavours.

In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of woody notes, alcohol warmth, light licorice, light acidity, apple jam., whisky barrel, very nice. Bottle.
