75 cl bottle, 2015 vintage. It pours hazy dark amber with a short-lasting, tan head. Aroma is green chilli peppers, biscuit, period. Pungent and sweetish to begin with, rather aggressive and unbalanced. Long-lingering finish with the taste of some chemical product used to mop the floor. Terrible.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of rum barrel notes with light grainy and caramel malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix of grainy notes with plenty of rum barrel notes and light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Rum is quite present and dominated most of the flavour profile. Interesting beer and different flavour profile from a unique brewery.
Earlier Rating: 7/15/2015 Total Score: 3.5
Bottle: Poured a murky bright orange/amber color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention. Aroma of boozy rum notes with residual sugar notes are very much dominant. Taste is mostly dominated by boozy rum notes with some light spices that are also dominated. Body is pretty full with medium carbonation and some apparent alcohol. The concept around this beer sounds really great on paper but the amount of rum in reality overshadows the other flavours.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy ambeer color. Aroma of demerara, some chemicals. Good body strength, a bit oily, some chestnuts, some whiskey flavor too. The bitterness is too low.
Weird, but nice overall.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out darkly toasted chestnuts, toasted caramel and dark fruits. Flavour brings out toasted chestnuts, coffee, and some toasted caramel. What a strange creation. The coffee is integrated pretty well, though chestnuts are the primary flavour. Don't really get the fenugreek. Very solid stuff.

750 ml bottle.. Pours a hazy pale amber color with a brief creamy beige head. A complex and unusual aroma with notes of rum, maple syrup, coffee and nuts. First sip produces boozy bittersweet whisky-like flavors. More maple and coffee come through. Notes of anise, bitter greens and young oak. Their is an underlying nuttiness that comes from the use of the roasted buckwheat. This is a complicated and unusual brew that challenges the palate. The flavors are varied. Their is very little carbonation. The major aromas and flavors are rum-like and woody. Overall, a curiously different attempt at a gluten-free brew. I can’t say I was fond of it.
