Got in a BIF from TheDoctor. 750 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 7/31/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, nuts, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, wood smoke, leather, tobacco, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Amazing complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready/light smoked malt, and light earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, nuts, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, wood smoke, leather, tobacco, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Mild roast/char, and herbal/grassy/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, dark fruit, cherry, molasses, licorice, light smoke/char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/light smoked malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no yeasty notes. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight sticky hops, and chalky char/roast. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%. Overall this is an insane Baltic porter! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/light smoked malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. This is the smoothest and best Baltic porter I've ever had. Even better than the Brandy/Bourbon variation. Amazingly rich/fruity malt complexity; with restrained cherry smoked malt, and mild earthy hops against sweetness. A highly amazing offering, and world class style example.

On tap @Brasserie 4:20 (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige medio-leggera, non molto persistente. Al naso note malti tostati, caffè, cioccolato, anche note di ossidazione, pan di spagna bagnato di rum, mela matura, vaniglia. In bocca è rotonda e complessa, l'ossidazione leggera la rende (inaspettatamente) ancor più interessante, dolce all'attacco, cioccolatosa, con chiusura leggermente amara a bilanciare, caffettosa, ancora mela matura, babà, alcol. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Wow!

Bottle @ Torben Matthews tasting. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and licorice. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Oily and soft. 170418

Bottle @ Torben Mathews tasting. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, licorice, chocolate, little alcohol, notes of caramel, cherries and has a nice warming sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with medium brown head. Aroma is espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, malt, soy sauce and gravy. Taste is very sweet, medium bitter and faint salty. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is long, intense and rich with vanilla, caramel, fudge, licorice, cream and hints of cherry and black berries.

Pours a near black from a bottle, tan head dissipates into a ring. Big chocolate aroma, similar flavor with a nice light smokiness. Very good beer.

Lany > tej butli, pumpernikel, ciemne owoce (sliwki), chleb. Sedzia mowi ze to nie porter, ale mi tam i tak bardzo smaczy :)
