Botella de 34.1 cl en Cimeria 08-01-14. Color ambar muy oscuro con espuma marfil poco persistente. Aromas bastante dulces. Cuerpo medio - alto con cierta densidad. Sabor dulce no muy intenso y tal vez algo de madera empapada al final y ligero amargor. No mucha sensación alcohólica. Bastante buena aunque no gran contricante para una Lervig Barley wine que la precedió. Hay que darle una nueva oportunidad.

Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of sweet syrup, caramel, toffee and berries. Taste is sweet, sticky and malty with notes of syrup, caramel and toffee. Finish is sticky, malty and caramely with some syrupy toffee notes. A bit too sweet for my taste.

Bouteille 341ml, sous le nom Ale de Hardy. Couleur ambrée rougeâtre, mousse beige. Arôme de sucre d’orge, malt. Goût de sucre d’orge, caramel, malt. Carbonation faible, corps moyen-dense.

33cl twist off cap (?) bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a light tan head. The aroma is nice and sweet with brown sugar coated plums and sweet raisins as well as mild caramel notes blended with ripe dark red cherry meat. The taste is pretty rich and smooth with a firm load of sugar stewed cherries as well as plums and raisins that are swimming in a pool of caramel and brown sugar. It gets a bit malty and boozy toward midway and into the finish. This is a nice sipper and seems like more age will do it well. A solid barleywine.

On tap at Le Baril Roulant in Val-David. Aroma: Caramel and molasses Visual: Hazy brown with small head Taste: Typical caramel, butterscotch and toffee with molasses. Round, unctuous, syrupy. Very solid texture. OK

A reddish copper barley wine with a very thin off white head. In aroma, classic vinous malyt with nice floral British hops, range, licorice, & light molasses. In mouth,, a smooth sweet vinous malt with licorice, plums, dark fruits, reminiscent of Macneil’s Old Ringworm.

Bottle: Poured a dark hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sugar with some dried fruit notes is quite enticing. Taste is a solid mix of caramelized malt with nice notes of toffee and a good amount of residual sugar. Body is quite full with good carbonation and not apparent alcohol. Solid rendition of an English style barleywine with just enough residual sugar.
