On draught at La Fourquet Fourchette with the Kuhnhenns and Tiggmtl and Muzzlehatch, following an awesome tour of Unibroue brewery. Served in a 20oz pilsener glass. Goldenrod, and pencil-yellow body is clear with huge bubbles sticking all over the glass and lazily rising to the surface. Head is initially large and consists of tons of bubbles. Eventually it dies to a bubbly cover, no lacing. Aroma of stale, old hops, not terribly bitter, with no real aroma, just soil, some nuttiness. Corn-like notes as well, grits and potatoes too. Mineral water, stale white bread. Flavor is corn-like and very mild. Touches of faint corn-syrup sweetness and light cereal sourness, bits of light grainy malts. Old grass and tons of mineral water elements. Huge bubbles burst in the mouth, breaking up any real smooth consistency it might have had. Extremely watered down, with a light body and just too much carbonation. Right up there with crappy Sleeman lagers, which is what they were aiming to do, to be fair. This has to be a pale lager. No crisp lager yeast bite anywhere.

Bottle: Poured a clear blonde brew with a nice huge head. Aroma is quite weak with some small notes of malts. Carbonation is just average for this type of beer. Taste is quite deceiving with some light floral malts and a watery aftertaste. Overall, this is a very light beer similar to some of the macro-produced ones out there but if Unibroue needs the money to produce some of their more robust beers then I have no problem.

If you forget that Unibroue makes this, you will enjoy it a lot more. It's not that bad, but it's a waste of their talents.
