orange/amber hue with a significant soft white head. The nose is fresh grapefruit with roasted bready malt. The taste is dominated by the same elements, red grapefruit in the foreground supported by sweet and bready roasted malt. The grapefruit hoppiness is complimented by floral notes from the NZ varieties and an earthier bitterness in the aftertaste. Noteworthy hops well balanced by an alcohol boosted underlying richness. One of several strong offerings from Brasserie Dunham.

Rich, super deep hazy copper and orange coloured body with a nice four centimetre tall tan head - soapy. Aroma of hops, soap, grapefruit, yeast, bread, lemons and a bit of dry grass - relatively pungent. Full-bodied; Super rich hop notes dominate with grapefruit, passionfruit, bread, soap, pine, alcohol and a steady malt backbone following show very nice elements. Aftertaste shows some good bready and yeast qualities with a very nice hop layer with the grapefruit and soapy notes the strongest. Overall, a very nice imperial IPA with some strong flavours and a very well-balanced finish showing some soapy and bready yeast elements bundled nicely with assertive hops. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Au Coin Duluth in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 20-September-2014 for CA$3,19 sampled at home in Washington on 17-February-2015.

(341mL bottle from Peluso) Pours a slightly cloudy medium amber with a frothy white head leaving some lace. Aroma wasn’t as punchy as the hop bill suggested, caramel malts with resinous hops, some pine, grassy herbal, tropical fruit, decent but rather restrained. On the palate, a sweet caramel malt core though not tons of malt complexity, and a somewhat amorphous blend of sticky, oily hop flavours - grassy/herbal, pine, a pit/tropical fruit mix. Fairly bitter from mid-palate on, drying, slightly citrusy. Mouthfeel is medium-full, slick and slightly ’chewy’, carb moderate and no hint of alcohol. Not a bad DIPA, but needed both more hop weight and distinctness of flavours to break into the top tier of the category.

[Thanks to Glouglouburp]. Bottle. amber colour with a white head, nice lacework and perfect lasting. Aroma is hoppy with notes of resins, pine and citrus. Flavor has a good maltiness with notes of citrus, orange peel, light caramel and resins. The final has a high bitterness with a decent astringency.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy pale orangey color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of citrus hoppy notes with light fruity ester. Taste is dominated by quite strong hoppy notes with some citrus notes and some dry bitter notes. Malt presence is felt but doesn’t play a huge role in the flavours profile. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed though a bit below my expectation coming from this brewer. The Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo hops were not a dominant as I would have expected.

Nice, well rounded IPA but a little light for an IIPA. Just bitter thick and hops piney with some malt, without having much individual hop character. The booze is quite well hidden though, making it seem more like a good IPA. Pours dark cloudy orange with great head and lacing. Finish is bitter. Soft carbonation. Bottle from Delires du Terroir.

Belle couleur, trop astringente un brin. Bon produit mais peut être amélioré.

Bouteille 341ml.

341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours a murky brownish orange with a big white head. Aroma is the most potent, with light notes of floral hops, along with hay, bready malts and meadows. Flavour seems like more of an east coast or British IPA, with English hops, floral notes, fresh meadows, earthy foresty notes, bread crusts, and lots of biscuity malts. This one doesn't punish you with hops, but the flavour profile is very elegant. At first I was underwhelmed, but the flavours mesh better and better together, and it warms up to you. Great stuff, albeit atypical for a I(I)PA.

Aroma: Citrus, orange, grapefruit with some malted notes of biscuit, cereal and grain. Subtle meat notes and also ether. Average complexity and power. Appearance: Copper / Amber with a lot of yeast residue. Very hazy and muddy. Off white head is average, creamy and long lasting with an average lacing. Taste: Very hoppy attack with strong orange notes. Strong bitterness including zesty oranges and conifer. Finish is long lasting. Round texture with a lot of body. Flavors are leaving all space to bitterness. And that ether note coming back all the time is a bit annoying. A lot of bitterness, strong hops, but missing a bit of flavor complexity.
