A low white head, well laced, tops a translucent orange/amber body. The nose features cloves, nutmeg, peaches, oranges and sweet malt. some lovely juicy tastes going on here. A punchy array of hop and ester based fruits lead the profile, including orange, peach, melon and lemon. A light, sweet bready malt base, cloves and other spices sit in the background, as does Belgian yeast. Slightly sticky with a slick mouth feel, but the overall effect is mitigated by significant carbonation and some acidity. Superior.

Cloudy golden pour, frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, pineapple, loads of citrus, and fresh cut grass. Good carb, and the palate is spot on. The finish is quite malty, with lots of grains and cereals. The hops and fruit fall right off, and it ends in a hefe life blast of yeast. Weird.

Taster at the brewpub. Slightly cloudy, gold colored. AROMA- apple, spicy, phenolic. FLAVOR- smooth, lightly sweet, lightly bitter, lightly warming, apple, pear, spicy, herbal. Medium bodied. Very tasty.

On tap at BDT, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out pleasant esters from the Belgian yeast, some floral notes, and a bit of candi sugar. Flavour is well-calibrated, with moderately sweet candi sugar, Belgian yeast, floral notes, and a little cotton candy. Maybe a bit on the sweet side, but not overly so and without contributing too much estery character. Well-made North American tripel.

Keg at Brasseur du Temps, Gatineau. Cloudy golden, small head. Peach, bread and marzipan up front. Quite sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Spicy hops, syrup, guava and marzipan. A bit sticky with warming white pepper finish. Too sweet for a tripel in my books.

Draught @ the brewpub (10 o’clock). Pours hazy straw with small but stable white head. Clear aroma of hops, malt and fruit, with touches of yeast. Sweetish, fruity and malty flavour with notes of flowers and caramel. Lingering, bittersweet aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel and warming alcojol presence. Nice.

Les levures actionnent l’olfactif de fruits tropicaux et confits, peut-être même séchés (abricots). Du zeste d’orange est également présent. Un peu d’excès d’éther lui confère un petit fond de solvant. Le visuel est blond, doré, avec des particules en suspension. La mousse est blanche, crémeuse et très dense. Le maintient est bon et l’épaisseur moyenne. Elle colle bien et y laisse quelques traces. L’entrée de bouche est sucrée, très sucrée, avec un alcool fort et chaleureux ainsi qu’une finale doucement herbacée. Les sucres sont très présents et fruités: fruits confits, fruits séchés, zeste d’orange, se mêlant aux herbes aromatiques en finale. Une petite base de céréales vient s’inviter à la toute fin. Mais il reste que le profile de cette bière est définitivement dans les sucres, les fruits et l’alcool.

Pretty well done for tripel. Aromas of coriander and booze with some Belgian yeast and florals. Pours lager golden without head or lacing. Nice sweet finish with light bubblegum. Tap at brewpub.

Bouteille 750ml. Couleur paille, mousse blanche presque absente. Arôme d’ananas, agrumes, miel léger, oranges. Goût de miel, houblon, alcool en fin de bouche. Carbonation faible, corps moyen.

Bouteille 750ml. De couleur dorée et voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes, léger de fruits tropicaux) et légèrement épicées (poivre très doux, traces de coriandre), moyen de blé, léger de sucre bonbon avec des notes de pain et de houblon herbeux. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas ainsi qu’une texture riche, et moyennement crémeuse. Goût de levures fruitées sucrées (agrumes, léger de fruits tropicaux, traces de bananes) et très légèrement épicées (poivre) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté sucré avec un léger goût de pain et de blé ainsi que des notes de sucre bonbon. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve des notes d’alcool réchauffantes en arrière-goût jusqu’en finale, où s’y ajoute une légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen-long et aux petites notes asséchantes, composé d’un goût de levures fruitées (zeste d’agrumes) avec une légère amertume d’alcool doux et de houblon herbeux.
