This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Scents include roasted coffee, black toast, roasted malt and a wee bit of Melloids. First swig had a nice body with even carbonation. Flavours of black coffee, Melloids cough drops, burnt toast, a little cough syrup and smoke. Finish is slightly sweet with burnt coffee flavours lingering.

a near black body is covered by a fluffy tan head with solid lacing. Nose is coffee forward with some chocolate and malt. There is a solid balance in the taste profile with slightly bitter coffee, subdued sweetness, some semi-sweet chocolate and malt with a nice hint of caramel. A solid body, relatively high carbonation and an additional creamy element in the aftertaste round out a very nice 5.8% ABV stout.

On tap at Beyond the Pale, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light roast, a sort of Irish character to the malt — very bready — and a touch of dark fruits. Flavour is much the same, with an Irish bready malt character and a touch of dark fruits. Decent body, with a bready malt character, and chewy palate. Not bad.
