2017 vintage on tap at Three Penny, 8/12/22. Undetermined clarity. Ebony-to-dark mahogany. Small, fairly-fleeting, medium tan head. Prominent though not damning oxidation with spicy bourbon right behind it and roast/chocolate bringing up the rear. No booze noted. Chocolate, mild bourbon, great attenuation and full but not sticky/syrupy body. Vanilla, tannin and wood notes linger very dryly. Maybe a bit dominated by the bourbon, though it's quite delicious in spite. Could stand a touch thicker body/more malt depth for its size and bourbon-forwardness.

75cl Bottle. 2017 Vintage. Corona Lockdown thirty something share. Thanks to SirAlex. Pours black with a small creamy lasting beige head. Deep and vinous nose and flavors of vanilla, port, wood, coffee and chocolate. A touch of coconut and red wine. Long finish. Dammn. What a treat. Absolutely amazing. One of the best impys ive had in 2021.

Bottle @ Himmeriget. Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head. Aromas of vanilla dark chocolate, light booze, fudge. Taste has lots of bourbon, dark chocolate, light tartness, fudge, vanilla.

(On tap) black with big tan head. Lovely aroma of roast malt, bourbon, wood, chocolate. Excellent mouthfeel. Full bodied, creamy with fine carbonation. Great taste too. There’s some dark toffee sweetness and chocolate at the start overlaid with bourbon and alcohol bite. The bourbon and some bitterness last in the long finish. Really good.

Roast and liquor. Some booze. Barreling takes away from base beer and clean out some taste for alcohol. Black pour with good mocha head and lacing. Caramel and leather. Some root. Bittersweet and boozy end. Ok but wouldn't really recommend based on cost. Tap at Sovereign.

Aroma is somewhat mild with licorice. Flavour has licorice, soy sauce and saltiness. Also some bourbon tones and mild peat notes. A slow sipper, perhaps. But worse than the original.
