Bottle split at Jack The Sipper leaves for the FBI again tasting, thanks to Kenny, 14/07/15. Black topped with a decent tan covering. Nose is charr, rich roasted notes, bourbonic tunes, light wood, chocoalte, tar. Taste comprises dark fruit shreds, light spice, raisens, chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A touch boozey but a solid enough impy.

Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is comparatively light with modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, mild spice. Nice touch of dark chocolate. Fruity bourbon. Light finish. Nicely aged but still with some kick.

Bottle big thanks to 18K Kenny It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is really rather rich, juicy, big sweet bourbon character, vanilla, apple pie, pear, pepper, dried fruits and caramelised sugars. The taste is smooth, rich roast, coffee, cocoa, plum, date, jammy blackcurrant, warming alcohol and some peppery spice throughout with a smooth finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Punchy and warming. Pretty decent stuff.

Single Barrel (#935 - the hot one from the barrel night). On tap at Lost Abbey. Pours with a pitch black body with a lasting brown head with some decent lace. Aromas are huge, bourbon, fudgy, tobacco, chocolate, vanillin. Somewhat sharp alcohol and barrel character. Flavors are nutty, fudge, bourbon, molasses. Alcohol is a bit smoother on the tongue than in the nose. Lots of tannic bitterness and vanillin. Medium to lively bubbles, dryish, tannic, warming. Good stuff in small quantities.

Draft. Blackish beer with a dark tan head. Bourbon and chocolate aroma. Bourbon, chooclate, and light coffee flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Bourbon, chocolate and light oak linger with light roast and light vanilla. Nice beer that brings together the flavors well, but just didn’t have quite enough to put it over the top.
