330ml bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dried fruits, berries, hint of chocolate. Taste is malty, dried fruits, berries, slightly sour, very bitter and boozy. Medium body, soft carbonation. Odd, totally unexpected flavours, doesn't seem right.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, liquorice, some cocoa, yeasty marmite and ammonia overtones. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of liquorice, salted liquorice, hints of coffee and cocoa, a touch of ashes; slightly strange, unpleasant, bitter finish with a touch of ammonia, marmite, some alcohol.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Very dark, chestnut brown. Ring of loose, beige bubbles. Nose has caramel. Figs. Dates. Some dark chocolate. Some coffee grinds. Taste is sticky sweet, turning dry, and coffee grind bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. Quite drying. Doesn’t feel the ABV, particularly. Long, drying, coffee bitterness to finish.
