Bryggerhuset Bock 2016 - #4 - Sydtysk Weissbock On tap @ Henrik. Looks really bad this. Well, perhaps bad is not the correct description but it's a murky brown mess in the glass with a small but hefty lacing islandy grey beige top. It has a sweet malty banana aroma. Lots of close, banana and yeast, yet it has a brown cheese sweet maltiness. Sounds strange, but it works decent enough I think. In the taste it's more dryish and earthy - and the banana has gone green and unripe. It's nice and oily in the mouth and quite soft on the carbonation. Almost a little savory in the taste. Lots of yeast, it's malty caramelly and yet quite nut bitter. Not the best I've had in the series. 21.01.2017

On tap at Både&. It’s an unclear brown colored beer with a finger thick light beige head. Some curtains. There’s plenty of banana and cloves on the nose, some alcohol too, and a good dash of bread and toffee. It’s full bodied, yet feeling a bit watery in a way, very softly carbonated for the style, and with a touch of warmth. Caramel, bread and nuts in the back of the flavor, some bitterness, and banana and cloves up front. Long caramel and banana finish. Not bad, but they brew the regular bock beers better. 161026

From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 24.10.16. Muddy brown. No head. Unappealing aroma of aceton, green apples, boiled vegetables, caramel and yeast autolysis. Awful taste - same shit as aroma. Crap! Almost no carbonation. Tastes unfinished. Undrinkable!

On tap @ Bakgården Både &, Kristiansand. Cloudy dark brown body with a small tan head. Mild aroma of smoke, yeast, bread and hint of caramel and ripe banana. Strong flavor with sweet malt, caramel, smoke, wheat, spicy yeast and some banana. Full bodied and long lasting sweet aftertaste with smoke and yeast. A solid, tasty take on the style. May not be a beer for everyone, but easy to understand that it’s a well-made one.
