3/XII/17 - on tap @ Billies Craft Beer Festival - BB: n/a (2017-2138) Thanks to the Belgian, Dutch and German ratebeerians for sharing today's beers!

Clear very pale light yellow beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: that's cucumber all right! Well, picked cucumber impressions, not fresh cucumber. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of cucumber up front, little malty, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: more cucumber, grated and juiced, I like this stuff, to be honest. :p

Tap at Koht. Pours clear golden-yellow, quite foamy actually but it reduces soon into a thin skirmish. Nose has mainly cucumber, lightly salted and still very fresh. Taste has faint barley base but overall still very fresh cucumber feel to it. Really, like that cucumber I dice for homemade potato salad. Weird for sure but not off-putting and actually goes down easy. Freaky one. For some reason I quite like it.

On tap at Koht, Tallinn. Clear, pale golden with a white head. Wow, that's plenty of cucumber, yes. Fresh cucumber is completely dominating the aroma, just hints of malt and some hoppy notes. Moderate sweet with fresh cucumber flavour and a light bitterness. Rather refreshing, but probably not something I would drink too much of.

Tap at brewdog. Pours clear golden with whiteish head. Aroma is fresh cucumber. Flavor is sweet and bitter, massive cucumber, some hoos and malt in the back. Finish is sweet with faint hint of malt and hoos. Overall: no beer detected. Good thing i like cucumber, so this is drinkable.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Clear pale golden body with a nice, lacing white head. Aroma is pickled cucumber and not much more. Flavor is quite sweet with smooth pale malt, lots of cucumber and a little hint of minerals. Fine body with more than less just cucumber in aftertaste as well. A decent version of a cucumber beer, have tastes both worse and better. The body is particular nice, but I find the flavor too one-dimensional and have problems to taste the actual beer itself here. The Austmann/Wettre version is another sample that shows that this can be done with some more complexity than just a beer with cucumber flavor. Anyway a pretty funny novelty beer.
