0.33l bottle. Yeah, it's a spiced up one for sure this! Lots of allspice and cloves. Quite powering and mighty actually. There's also traces of cocoa, chocolate and orange zest. Smells quite nice, but A LOT! In the glass it's deep dark ruby colored and it has a small quickly sidesticking and quite lacing beige head in the top. Tastes a little like Christmas decoration also. So spiced up on the cloves and allspice. It has a thick almost syrupy texture in the mouth and it's prickling on the carbonation. Really nutty and a little yeasty also perhaps. Something that reminds me of mushrooms toward the finish. A little too much perhaps, but a year or two in the cellar and I'm sure this will smooth itself out nicely and become even better. 03.01.2016

330 ml bottle. Clear reddish amber body with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is quite spicy with star anises, cinnamon, cloves and caramel malt. Flavor is pretty well balanced as a Christmas spicy beer with the same flavors as aroma. Medium body and average aftertaste with the same spices here as well. Nothing new really within the style, we have sampled the same many times before, but still well made.

Bottle, at Ølfestivalen, Nærbø. A clear, copper colored beer with a small, off-white to beige head. Very spiced aroma, with star anise, cardamom and caramel maltyness. Caramel and some dried fruits in the back of the flavor, with lots of star anise and cardamom up front. Some bitterness too, it’s semi-dry, medium bodied and nicely carbonated, ending in a caramel and spices finish. A decent one indeed, although I find it a bit heavy on the spices. Better let it mellow for some months I think. 151017

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Rosewood body under a fawn-coloured head with plenty of small bubbles. Clingy lacing. Prominent ginger aroma and little else. The Yuletide spices, ginger and cardamom, are present but rather subdued in the taste profile. Moments of roasted malts and star anise with a backdrop of citrus shells towards the ending. Just alright without greater excitements (26.12.2015).

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Mørkebrun. Veldig høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Skummet varer lenge. Litt filigranser. Veldig kraftig krydderaroma. Nesten litt lakris. Smaken blir mye krydder. På grensen til hostesaft. Lett tørr ettersmak. Mye krydder - men lite annet.

Bottle at home. The color is dark brown with a beige head. Spicy aroma of cloves, cardamom, dates, black currants, pine needles and roasted malt. The flavor is all about the spices with more cloves, anise and maple syrup and heather. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body, and a light bitterness. A quite spicy beer that makes the taste a bit one-dimensional, but is not over powering. Decent enough if you appreciate spiced Christmas beers.
